A new science block and indoor sports facility

Having carried out work at the foundation phase and various ancillary projects involving minor work — remediation, maintenance and new projects — we were appointed to construct the new science block and indoor gymnasium while refurbishing the heritage listed intermediate block concurrently.

The new science block included 50 basement car park spaces, two state-of-the-art science laboratories with chemical storage facilities with built-in fume cupboards and fitted out with stainless steel cabinetry and corrosive resistant work stations. Four additional classrooms along with new staff and learner ablution facilities were provided on the same level.

The top floor was constructed to accommodate an indoor gymnasium floored with GER flooring, new drama facilities, new shower facilities and additional storage. This 2100m2 facility was constructed in 6 months with works coordinated around exams and critical teaching periods.
