Building Bridges – Connecting People

The Bram Fischer Bridgeway, a 148m long pedestrian bridge designed by Phillipe Moen of GLH architects and engineered by Pure Consulting. The 150 ton steel structure supported on elegantly sloping concrete columns rises 7m over the four lanes of Bram Fisher below, connecting the state-of-the-art Multichoice city on the 1st floor before snaking around the existing campus to connect with the existing technology building on the west campus.

The project used lean construction techniques to minimise waste and maximise off-site construction. Tekla 3d-modelling software was used on the project to carry out workshop reviews, minimise conflicts and provide clarity as the project progressed. Walras used BIM software to schedule the project.
