Managing Director

Paul Coelho

Paul Coelho is the managing director and founder of Walras. It is through his vision and innovative leadership that Walras has grown into the prominent South African construction services organisation it is today. Paul is responsible for overseeing the overall success of the company and his active involvement and hands-on approach has been key to the growth of Walras.

Prior to setting up Walras, Paul held a number of positions across the project life cycle in various countries including South Africa, Namibia, Mozambique, Ireland and The United Kingdom. He ran an independent real estate advisory in London, working with major UK and European banks and real estate funds, where he was responsible for

the management of restructuring and workout of projects where problems were encountered with debt servicing.

Paul also held the position of Development Manager with GMAC-RFC (UK) where he was responsible for overall operations of development portfolio.

Paul is a chartered surveyor and a Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). He holds a BSc Honours in Building Science (Wits) and has since completed a Master’s Degree in Construction Economics and Management (Wits) as well as a Master of Science in Real Estate Finance (Reading). He attended the Executive Real Estate Programme at Harvard Business School in 2010.

Bianca Coelho

Bianca Coelho joined Walras in January 2013 and has been instrumental in positioning the company for renewed growth while still maintaining its lean and efficient profile. Bianca has spearheaded the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies while managing the working capital to ensure a return on Walras’ human and capital assets.

Before this she was an associate attorney with Goldman Judin Incorporated where she specialised in corporate commercial law with responsibilities across numerous functional disciplines including contract drafting, commercial litigation, in both high court and commercial arbitration. She has an LLB from the University of Johannesburg and is an admitted attorney.

Shelley Wilson

Shelley Wilson joined Walras in 2012 and has streamlined and managed the commercial strategy of the firm. Shelley is responsible for the commercial and contractual arrangements associated with projects. Shelley is an expert in administering multidisciplinary construction works packages and contracts.

Prior to joining Walras, Shelley was based on-site at the R1 billion Standard Bank Head Office in Rosebank as a contracts Quantity Surveyor with WBHO. Shelley also spent 5 years in the UK with Turner Townsend as a

cost manager working on a number of high profile university projects including the Maurice Wohl Neuroscience Building at the University College London.

Shelley has a BCom from UNISA as well as a PGdip in Quantity Surveying from the College of Estate Management in Reading. She is a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

Commercial Manager

Luccille Gimani

Luccille Gimani, joined the Walras team in 2016, spearheading the formalisation of Infrastructure Division. The division focusses on providing an efficient, and flexible integrated maintenance solution for hard services. Luccille’s eye for technical detail, allows clients the comfort of knowing that accurate recording and predictive maintenance planning is being done, whilst driving for lean process in service approach. This approach enables our clients to focus on their core business, whilst we are able to show a return on investment on asset, coupled with lower running costs, and aesthetically pleasing finish as a result of quality workmanship.

Having started her tertiary education in law at Rhodes University, branched into Civil Engineering and applied sciences. The multi-disciplinary background has shaped her keen understanding of the need for a holistic approach to building design, infrastructure development, construction and post development maintenance to extend asset lifespan. Her work experience has covered training in the Office of a former President, property and shopping centre environments and most recently the education sector.
